Re: variation question
I would say it also depends on which licensing force you're under, don't some take 7.62/.308 as being 7.62x51 and its commercial equivalent?saddler wrote:Depending on your RFD you've GOT the slot for 7.62 already

More than a vested interest in 7.62x54r!

Currently I've not had a rfd who will sell me a Mosin nagant.I'm under police scotland and I believe they take it as 7.62x51 as said above.

Re: variation question
YES. To answer your actual question. You can can do a 1-4-1 variation for any calibre to any calibre, there is no restriction in licensing terms.nearly there wrote:Quick question guys regarding a variation.can I do a one for one from 7.62/308 to 7.62x54r.thanks
Obviously if you were going for something radically different you may need to supply further information to confirm you have a 'good reason'
I've 1-4-1'ed a .22 sound mod for a multi-shot shotgun, a spare barrel for an LBP, a lower receiver for a 7.62x39mm rifle, etc Anything is possible providing you can still satisfy the 'good reason' requirement for what you're after.

Re: variation question
Nope, as long as you are not increasing the number of firearms ie swapping one for another it's free.
