Re: EU to propose banning semi auto "weapons"
Daniel Dalton MEP on his website has given a very good summary as to why he believes these proposals are ill-founded and will only unfairly impact on e.g. legitimate firearms owners and collectors of deactivated firearms. Rather than having any effect on the illicit arms trade and terrorism.
He seems to have already steps to address such concerns to the EU & I have sent him an e-mail thanking him and to remind him that we must also not lose sight that the Government recently asked the Law Commission to look into the legislation of firearms in the UK. From my understanding, the Law Commission asked for the input of interested parties as part of it's work. And in my view, I would far sooner our Government took note of the Law Commission rather than the ill -founded EU proposals, before it seeks to change the existing UK firearms legislation.
It is obviously important that we all continue to voice our concerns in a rational and coherent way to our MEP's etc. and to hope that there will be a sufficient number like Mr Dalton, who (at the very least) are able remove some of the more unworkable and unfair parts of the current EU Proposed Directive.

It wouldn't surprise me if the two faced, lying, gutless illegitimate cameroon would use UK support for this as part of the bargaining for the EU in/out referendum he will do anything to keep Britain in the EU and throwing legitimate UK gun owners to the anti wolves is just the sort of thing that scumbag would do to pursue his own vested interest.

The ambiguous key phrase is "high-powered semi-automatic weapons".

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/pm-c ... ic-weaponsA terrorist threat in one country is a danger to all of us, so I believe there is more we must do together to tackle the terrorist threat posed by Daesh.
We need to ensure that terrorists do not have the weapons with which they can wreak such tragedy. So at this week’s summit, I’ll be calling for a new EU-wide ban on all high-powered semi-automatic weapons and greater co-operation to crack down on the smuggling trade and to stop guns coming in from the western Balkans.
Well Mr Cameron; rather than an idiotic ban, the Paris shootings and the current influx of so called syrian refugees show the need for the restoration of national borders. It is the EU's idiotic dogma of open borders that pose the real threat. Grow some balls and propose that.
Re: EU to propose banning semi auto "weapons"
So let's just be clear on this.A terrorist threat in one country is a danger to all of us, so I believe there is more we must do together to tackle the terrorist threat posed by Daesh.

THEY are letting in all and sundry, they did not prevent any attacks by people on their watch list, they did not prevent criminals from obtaining weapons, they freely admit to the EU over 1 MILLION criminals to date and somehow this is ALL YOUR FAULT. Waken UP!.
I really cannot see why NO ONE is in the least bit angry at beng blamed and PUNISHED for something that is NOT THEIR FAULT.
One Sheriff in the US has told Obama he risks a civil war by grabbing guns. GOOD! it needs spelling out, (albeit the media have immediately twisted it to say THE SHERIFF PERSONALLY made the threat!)

One would think the ENTIRE law abiding EU public would say NO. Just WHY are YOU LOT being punished for somwethig you did not do!??? SImple, because they think indeed KNOW you will let them, just as happended after Dunblane and Hungerford. NO ONE on here was responsible to WHY on earth should anyone be punished. This is the collective punishment the Nazis and Communist regimes dished out years ago, the reason two world wars were fought.
BTW, has NO ONE cottoned on that there is NO mention of compensation, just a state THEFT of your property as a law abiding person with a RIGHT to own these firearms.
SO let's say they take all guns, how many of you will lose maybe TENS of thousands of pounds?? How many will be left with £1500 plus scopes and other kit that will be USELESS because you will NOT have a gun to put them on.
This is not about terrorism but maybe about an EU wide civil war that IS coming due to the influx of potentially 35 MILLION people who WILL be hacked off big time when there are no benefits and free houses etc to be had! No wonder they eant you defenceless because you will be moved IF they decide to move you (it's already enshrined in law since about 2000).
Maybe instead of debating what IS going to happen or worse, living in total denial like far too many seem to be doing (and remember the UN Global Gun ban some said would never happen) some legal beagles should be looking at the entire concept of the INJUSTICE of MASS PUNISHMENT of INNOCENT people for crimes committed by a few. Surely to god this is against the ECHR that our beloved government obeys blindly!
Are they banning ALL MIGRANTS because some (over a million so far) are illegal -and some of them may have committed these acts /will commit further attacks - like hell they are.
Make no mistake, Cameron WANTS the UK to stay in the EU and if it means screwing over gun owners i.e YOU plus those who make a living from it he darn well will!! Why won't he: after all you or your votes don't mean a thing to him.
OH and just WHAT will they do when all legal guns are gone and the massacres continue, how will they exact punishment on the law abiding innocent then? The mind boggles.

Maybe it's time for the people across the EU (who are subjected to an unelected and unaccountable government) to say "NO - it is NOT going to happen"........ and mean it.!!!??
Just a thought for discussion.

Surprisingly, the BBC has put a different spin on the PM's proposals - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-35086934
