Oh,and just watched on bbc2 interview with French journalist from Le Monde,who was filming attack and was shot in the arm helping a club victim-NO automatic fire,rapid single shots fired only...what more to come?

Over the last 50 years I've observed nothing but undeserved legislation heaped on legal gun owners, surely we have had enough of being branded as second class citizens.

Isn't it time we stood up to them with a mass protest?

The next time there is a gun confiscation, (And there will be one), simply say "Sorry I don't own that gun anymore, your records are wrong. As we all know they make lots of mistakes anyway.

They can't jail everyone.

We do have straight-pull AK variants but they are not AK-47s......I own two and wouldn't call them AK-47s.

With all this talk of everything except spud guns being banned has anyone, including the EU Commission and the Government, stopped to consider how many businesses will go under thus adding to the number of unemployed/folks claiming benefits etc and how much tax revenue will be lost, not to mention all the Licensing staff that would be out of jobs.

Anyone got any figures on how much money shooting generates for the economy, both here and across Europe?.
I remember years ago when there was calls to ban fishing in the UK but it was dropped as soon as someone in Government realised how much money the sport generated.

I will sign any petition support any individual or organisation. Write to my MP or whatever person you think may be of help. I'm willing to march through the streets if you think it will help. I'm a bit to old to be going to Jail.

But being a victim of the legislation changes over the last 50 years as made me very cautious about my choice of firearm. My Philosophy is that the dim wits will eventually ban the whole thing regardless of whether it makes sense or not. Hence the reason that I would never invest any money in a single firearm or a collection of firearms that I could not afford to write off. I could spend thousands of pounds on a rifle if I wanted to. But when they steal it off me and they will eventually they are not going to compensate us this time. In the mean time I have lots of other hobbies they are just as expensive but no dim wit in government is going to ban them. Well not for a while any way there is to much profit involved for the multi nationals.

Big difference though is the gun owners in the uk are no were near the numbers in the EU
i would of thought that big firearms manufactures such as the likes of sig, beretta etc will have some clout and will lobby hard against this as they will lose a big chuck of business out of this !

Considering the AK-47 is rarer than rocking horse poo I certainly wouldn't call them AK-47 regardless of them being straight pull.
