I have some 20 Marlin lever guns now. The overwhelming majority made pre-1914. The others from 1965 to 2001. I don't own any made since the Remington take over. I will no doubt at sometime have such, but from what I have seen so far, they will be post 2015 rifles.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

My gun bad
Bad bits replaced under warranty by Edgar's
My gun good now
Guns bought in last few months all good.

Can't imagine all those bad guns being shipped to UK for the owners to stoically sit on their faults so they can stitch up the unsuspecting purchaser.

Edgar's are no longer the importer. Sports Marketing are now and the "warranty repairer". I haven't heard much in the way of positive about them. The biggest seller of Marlin rifles in the UK today is a business who imports them privately and the biggest seller of spare parts for Marlins is again another private concern.

Relatively, the amount of Marlin rifles brought into the UK since 2008, is tiny compared to the amount that has actually been produced. There are good ones now being made but because of the size of our market, the bad ones will have their effect felt for a long time to come.
