We’ve all seen them and flinched accordingly – movie gun fails. Cocking sound effects synchronized with the presentation of a Glock, bottomless magazines (and pump shotguns, hello, Walking Dead, I’m talking to you), and the stunning explosions created by the impact of a bullet – call it Hollywood fantasy or ridiculously inept, but you can’t really enjoy a movie if you’re a firearms buff. In honor of Halloween it’s time to post an oldie but a goodie: Iraqveteran8888’s Gun Grips 47,”Guns in Horror Movies.” Yes, this one dates back to 2012, but it’s still one we can all get behind. After all, who here isn’t irritated by firearm inaccuracies in movies?
What’s your biggest horror movie gun gripe?

Some TV series here they use BLACK training guns and have the actors "shake" to show recoil - muzzle flash is added by the effects team later.
AK's are always full auto, even when the safety is ON.

Re: Horror movie gun fails
The one that always annoys me when I see it is in Equilibrium. At one point one of the guards is wielding a a WA2000 rifle, with the scope and bipod removed, as if it were a shotgun. He racks a non exisent pump action under the barrel and it's even accompanied by the sound of the racking. Apparently the one in the movie was a replica (not surprising given how rare they are), but even so, come on guys....
Re: Horror movie gun fails
How come someone hit in the chest with a 20 -30mm shell from an aircraft cannon or a .50 is still alive - or in possession of the limb that was hit?
And absolutely NO ONE in a shopping mall hears a burst from an Uzi /AR /AK or a shotgun blast!

Re: Horror movie gun fails
Shooting guns, especially shotguns and rifles, indoors with no hearing protection and no ill effects, yeah good luck with that

..or made from a Smartie tube....
I hear firing an RPG from inside a car is not too clever either....and why do frag grenades contain 50 gallons of oil and shaved wax that explode in a huge ball of flame.??
And a blast wave that takes out a building but NOT someone calmly walking away from it...
