I had no real previous experience worth mentioning with the Lee-Enfield and Sunday was a steep learning curve for me. I started the day dropping every time the stock from my shoulder to reload but at the end of the day was kinda ok-ish racking that bolt from my shoulder & managing to fire (inaccurately) about 8 rounds in the time it took Individual to fire 10 and just about to finish his cigarette ... Uuuuups ...

A metal mag would aesthetically be more pleasing but those polymer might indeed be the solution. I saw that Israeli FAB Defence also make them with an "anti tilt" follower.
you can buy the fab ones from zahal http://www.zahal.org/products/ultimag-p ... ent=306418

Its normally free shipping so fill your boots. last time I bought something Froggy it came in 10 days.

I might have secured my required number of mags with the help of fellow FB members.
If not, polymer ones will be the way. Those Fab Defense would indeed be a tempting option - thanks for the link .

They do both 10 and 30 rounders also. Forgot that some stuff they might not do free delivery on, but its cheap enough with the exchange rate (its all priced in dollars but held in Israel). Like I said, they ship quick, even at weekends (Saturday being the sabbath there, not Sunday).

I took my AIA to the range last weekend I was curious to see how it performed with my 5 round mag rapid firing at 25 yards. I cast a batch of 155 grain Loverin boolits using a NOE mould. I lubed and sized the boolits to .314 using a Lyman lube sizer. I expanded the case mouths using a home made expander button. I charged the cases with 3.6 grains of N310 and seated the boolits so they were a snug fit in the magazine.(I know what my max cartridge overall length is so doing this is not a problem)
I fired 50 rounds at 25 yards from a trench supporting the rifle with my left elbow resting on the ground. I shot at ten 1/2 red dots 5 rounds on each dot. All 5 rounds went into the red dot no stoppages the rifle worked flawlessly. A good day out and cheap shooting. I spent the rest of the day chatting with the guys and generally putting the world to rights. That's about as much excitement as I can cope with now a days and it takes me forever to get in and out of the shooting pit.

We're just back from firing our AIA 7.62x39 Junglie. At 300 mards it was grouping nicely in the 5 ring with military surplus ammo, fired prone using a sling and a 4x32 telescopic sight. The wind was relatively light and straight along the axis of fire so little need to compensate for it. In a bolt gun the 7.62x39 can be quite accurate.
