Harmless prank? - more like another excuse for the resident Journo to stick the boot in to both the Police and BASC - so boring now.

I actually think the BASC statement is a good one! - so you condone "messing about with firearms and alcohol?"

Time to end all formal driven game shoots then?
At least ONE Home Secretary (still living) is known to have shot a beater on a game drive, being worse for drink - yet was never taken to task or had his certificate revoked
Maybe it's only the upper crust that can be trusted with loaded guns after consuming alcohol?

(...and that's even taking into account that the bottle in the offending video may or may not have contained alcohol...)

Is removing ones firearms from secure storage in order to photograph them (other than for a sale) a valid reason in the eyes of the law? The Police (as demonstrated) will find any excuse.

One thing I like to point out when people compare firearms certificates to driving licences is that you don't need a licence to own a car or drive it on private ground. You can even drive it intoxicated if I understand correctly.

Now whilst we don't condone being intoxicated and shooting there does seem to be a massive interference in people private property rights. Why do we need to seek permission to own and use something that can only be used on private property?

Also again where is the threat to the public on this issue? Where was the harm or loss caused or intent to do so?

I know we all have to be very careful but it shows how bad it's got and shooters let it get this way over years of appeasement with some enjoying being part of a privileged elite.

They need to be stored securely when not in USE. Your use of them is not restricted other than by law and your FAC conditions.

I've an idea which one, he's complete hypocrite on many fronts, proof that having numerous generations of the same family gifted a seat where a hatstand could be elected with the right colour (his son's in parliament now also) does not lead to the best governance. And people then wonder why I don't have the time for either them or labour.

Pointing a firearm at random people in the street is bloody stupid, regardless if it is deactivated or not.
