To be fair, it's only 9 years away. so still having the SA80 is very likely. Remember how long the Browning was in service.

No doubt with shirts tucked in and sleeves rolled up. Take a perfectly good uniform & screw about with it to make it look "smart".

The difference is the Browning was a good firearm, i assume we are talking about the H/P.

The L85 will be a little past its sell by date in 2025.

Not saying it won't be in, but there aren't any new lowers being made. And they keep breaking them.

If I was a betting man, I'd say something AR shaped. And Canadian flavoured. We already use the C8, the argument that it would be 'hard to retrain' is trotted out every now and again, however that's not true. It takes me around 4 sessions to have guys using the M&P15/22 competently. And they're new guys.

I wonder if the poor buggers will still have to buy their own boots, etc, to compensate for the crap they are issued with? 5mith

Haix goretex cold weather boots, Altberg defender boots, lowa desert boots, bates lightweight boots.

That's a selection of what we have on the shelf in stores. They're not perfect, but this isn't the 90's anymore
