And so it begins. Welcome to the wonderful world of Corbyn. It's strange how these front page headlines have suddenly been rehashed, innit.

Yep, good observation Les.

Corbyn and an influx of economic entrepreneurs - must divert attention from that no matter what. Gun Control scare stories: A weapon of mass distraction!

Well it's good to see Scotland striving take the lead on long Sec 1 renewal times. 85 days so far. Durham is in danger of getting caught.

The Mail is also running the story.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... nibus.html

Government figures for bus accidents for one year alone:

In 2011 in Great Britain, there were 7,138 accidents involving at least one bus or coach, with 9,913 casualties. Of those casualties 75 were fatalities.
There were around 301 fatal or serious accidents involving buses and coaches per billion vehicle miles in 2011. This is more than twice the rate for all vehicles (125 accidents per billion vehicle miles).

It's covered here as well at the DailyMail. The comments are interesting.

"We cannot make our position any clearer: it is now for others to accept the need for change. If they do, perhaps the life of the next victim of firearms misuse might be saved. What is highly likely is that, if change is not effected, there will be another tragedy."

I'd suggest that statement is as close as we'll ever get to the police admitting they've failed to implement existing licensing requirements leading to tragedies such as Hungerford and Dunblane, but to make up for their failure to protect the public safety they'd like additional powers such as entry without a warrant or judical oversight and unfetted access to shooters medical records.

That's just a police state, all the more reason to have firearms. Definitely bad times coming IMO.

If they get that power where would it lead?? The police ALWAYS usurp any new powers to the n'th degree! Trials at 3am, police as judge, jury and executioner, no thank you!
