Re: sky news scaremongering the sheep population again
Even Press TV had a mention about this "report"! As said, scaremongering tripe that is actually about the police failings in the system.
The report says "Police have FAILED to learn lessons" - not after the old chestnut of "lessons will be learned"!
We need criminal control, not gun control.

They are running the story on the tellybox too, just read it out on the headlines at 8am.
The above post probably contains sarcasm or some other form of attempted wit, please don't take it to heart.

Re: Continuity ACPO publishes gun ban shopping list
At the very least we're being lined up for a severe money grab come April 2016, or at worst getting the ban-it-brigade engines warmed up for an all out assault once the Law Commission report gets debated

MORE SCARE STORIES IN THE PRESS
This is from the Guardian 15th Sep 2015

Now whether the Inspector of Constabulory opened with the first sentence or not is a moot point but it looks like the Drip Drip Drip Drip effect is being tried again.

Quite possibly it has already been decidedAt the very least we're being lined up for a severe money grab come April 2016, or at worst getting the ban-it-brigade engines warmed up for an all out assault once the Law Commission report gets debated

Re: MORE SCARE STORIES IN THE PRESS
Sky news currently is running the same story with a picture of machine guns on a table.....quite how that's relevant to the story in hand is anyone's guess.....
When someone says "it's not about the money" you know what? it probably is all about money!

I have the HMIC report (and press release) which kicked all this off. BBC Radio 5 Live are having a phone-in right now. Tim Bonner of the Countryside Alliance was just on.

BBC showing images of pistols and racks of AR's whilst reading the headlines

It's a fairly naked shot at the Law Commission review. I wondered why the usual suspects on licensing had kept so quiet - and HMIC gave no indication they were going to come out with anything like this when I asked them about the terms of reference and remit months ago when this was first announced.Blackstuff wrote:At the very least we're being lined up for a severe money grab come April 2016, or at worst getting the ban-it-brigade engines warmed up for an all out assault once the Law Commission report gets debated
Continuity ACPO have played a blinder. Not only have they captured the police regulator and turned him into a mouthpiece for their position, they've captured the headlines with inflammatory talk of inevitable murders unless there's wholesale change. We're really going to struggle to fight this one.
