Never really had a problem with Durham FLD in almost 30 years. They recently moved to a new building only a mile from me so it's very handy. I dropped my last variation form in on a Monday morning and picked up the certificate on Wednesday afternoon.

If you had any dealings with them between 2009 and 2015 and didn't get a sloppy service you've been exceptionally lucky

I've had lots of dealings with them during that time both as a certificate holder and RFD.

My dealings have been extremely varied, variation turn-arounds ranging from 5 days to 9 weeks, 2-3 weeks to re-assess if I can have a calibre I'd just been "approved" for when I asked for an action type change (which shouldn't even be required in the first place), shifting there reasons to refuse my Autistic son even an SGC despite being a member of 4 clubs and having shot safely for over 8 years and my last variation, while done in a week, had to be returned a further twice as they kept putting the wrong ammunition hold allowance for the 6.5 creedmoor.
