Durham Police - what's changed in Firearms Licensing Dept?

#1 Post by dodgyrog »

I sent may FAC in for variation last week.
Requested a 1 for 1 308 rifle
Requested a second .357 lever action rifle
Requested a 30-30 break action rifle
Requested .243 expanding ammo
All approved and back inside a week
I'm not used to such service - WELL DONE.
Purveyor of fine cast boolits.
All round good guy and VERY grumpy old man.

New boss, eh? Is the one who re-armed Michael Atherton finally gone?

Possibly related, Durham was one of the FLDs being inspected by HM Inspectorate of Constabulary recently. The report (which covers 10 other FLDs and will be suitably bowdlerised to protect police blushes) is out next Tuesday.

I am sure it will make for interesting reading and lets hope the FLD's take on board the observations made. Interesting how Durham have suddenly leapt forward in their processing times and I do wonder how Dyfed Powys are doing these days. Good to see North Yorkshire are included as they are so often hailed as what good looks like and I know of one club owner outside of the area that actually calls North Yorks as opposed to his own FLD.

Good point, maybe they should call themselves FCD's instead.
