The matter of competency lies with the FLO.

There's an organisation that has developed courses covering every aspect of field shooting, I don't know how well subscribed they are, but the cynic in me remains to be convinced.

I've come across a hunter that didn't even know he had to clean his rifle. Was confused why he was getting 6 inch groups (of 3!) at 70m, turns out the barrel was pitted inside. If I remember correctly, the hunter who sold it him didn't think it had to be cleaned either.

A couple of observations here: if he's zeroed his rifle, it's properly supported, he's using subsonics (he is using a moderator after all) and he's only taking shots at the correct distances, he should only be hitting the bunnies with EVERY shot. What's this bloke doing shooting towards livestock???
When lamping I've been known to take up to 200 bunnies on occasions ... most are head shots (£1 each from the game dealer) and the odd body shot (75p from the dealer).
