Recent large scale shooting competition in the UK or RSA?

#1 Post by rufrdr »

I was flying out of Heathrow on Monday when I saw a large group of competition shooters arriving to fly out. There was a huge stack of long gun cases plus accompanying gear. I didn't see the shooters but my son said that the team members had vests with UK and RSA badges. Any idea what this group was connected with?

Quite probably the schools airgun/small bore competition which would have been held at Bisley last week. This week is the NSRA Small-bore national meeting and it normally precedes it.

Do you know if they were wearing green/yellow shirts with that style of badge as on Saturday 8th we did see a group at Bisley, accent sounded Dutch/South African.

Lots of big matches in the Summer could be the Small-Bore matches.

There was a young RSA team shooting at Bisley over the last weeks. Shared breakfast at the L&M with lots of green shirts :D

South Africa always send a large team to the NSRA Junior International and the dates would be right too.

If you'd looked around some more you might have seen the GB Palma team returning Monday morning as well.

Oh and me and Iain but we were the only ones using Terminal 5!
