Re: Variation done quickly but reduced ammo allowance?
I was always told 1100 possess, 1000 buy (in ye olde days)
Recently had my .22 rimfire taken to 2000
NEVER had the shotgun slug allowance that the National Guidelines suggest...about four or five increases later & it's still well under guidance suggestions.

It's all very confusing.phaedra1106 wrote:Shooters powders are 10kg and small arms ammo/primers are 15kg

Last time we discussed this the sums came out to an allowance in the region of "nothing to worry about for even a keen shooter" - I think 5500 .308 rounds PLUS loose powder was the calculation.Marmite5 wrote:It's all very confusing.phaedra1106 wrote:Shooters powders are 10kg and small arms ammo/primers are 15kg
That said, it's not especially difficult once the right info is found (as provided by Phaedra) within the fairly murky regs. Loose powder is obvious, small arms ammo/primers is easy to calculate as you know how much powder you put into each round and from there it's a simple multiply by number of rounds on your ticket exercise.

I think I'll be fine then, thanks.
Re: Variation done quickly but reduced ammo allowance?
No problems here (Devon & Cornwall, which admittedly is a bit of a shooter's paradise) getting 1500 rimfire, the justification being that I want to keep at least three types of ammo: hollowpoints for vermin, match for target shooting, and semi-auto for LBP. Plus separate allowances for CF revolvers.

Just got my FAC back, still says 200 for the 6.5 Creedmoor, bloody hopeless!

There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)

Rang them this morning, "are you sure it says 200? it says 600 on here"
Good news is she's posting another one out today so I don't have to return this one first so that will speed things up a bit :)

Re: Variation done quickly but reduced ammo allowance?
I was only allowed 300 rounds of .22lr when I first got my FAC within 3months I sent them an email asking for more ( 1000 ) as it's cheaper to buy bricks and had it authorised and changed no questions asked
