Yet another colonial question.....(sorry there are SO many.....)... I can't tell from this Thread whether or not RF rounds are subject to an "allowance" as well as CF rounds? If so, what would be a typical number for a RF allowance? Thanks. :)

Yes RF rounds are an allowance it mostly seems in my area, to be buy 1,000 meaning you can hold 1,200 so you never run out. A mate has an allowance of 3,000 made up of 2,000 for target use and 1,000 hollow point for vermin over farm land.

While up here in sunny Durham I get a 22lr hold amount of 600 rounds while at the same time I can hold 3,700 various centrefire rounds any????

Makes no sense at all troutslapping

Blackstuff, it's easier to drop it into the local postie than it is to drive to Peterlee, plus they don't like you turning up and knowing where they moved to!.

To protect their own backsides I'd suspect after their historic failings.

In West Mercia area there is no longer a seperate purchase/hold figures, just a maximum hold allowance.

I think that is now common.

That single figure for hold (as opposed to purchase/hold) is standard on all new printed FACs (i.e. after variation/renewal/application) and has been for quite a while (18 months ish?).

Hold limits are a total joke in any case.
