I don't really see the point. Can't see what the heck those tiny slugs would be good for. The biggest one they quote is barely 1/2 oz, pretty much the same as a .410. Has no place in the field, imo.

11 gram FMJ slug at 700 m/s (170 grain @ 2295 fps) in a 30 round mag......whats not to like???.It would make a good SHTF round bangbang

i think the point is outlined in the article, that russians can't own a rifle until they have owned a shogun for 5 years, so this is a way to shoot rifle ish rounds in a smoothbore rifle - shotgun.

i suppose its like all those shot out 303's that are bored out to 410 then shot on a sgc over here

ShotGun Certificate

Oh - a rifled barrel on a pump shotgun makes it a Section 5 gun - akin to US BATF Class III

A shotgun with a magazine that takes over 2 rounds, or is detachable, is a Firearm = FireArm Certificate needed

Have the magazine restricted & welded in place (for box mags) or crimped (tube mags) & the gun is on SGC

Minimum SGC barrel is 24" (PLUS a minimum overall length of 40" for pumps/semi's: under 24"/40" = Section 5)
An FAC shotgun can have a minimum 12" barrel (but only for single shot, sbs or lever action/bolt action....i.e. non-pump/semi types)

sgc = shotgun certificate. the thing you have to get to own non firearm classed shotguns.

sadly, that full rifled shotgun barrel means it is not licensed as a shotgun over here, and is a total no no

*edit* Saddler beat me to it

Is it just me, or is that really dumbass?? It's the same flippin' gun, whatever configuration I put on it - I use the same gun, but a different barrel, for turkeys & geese -

But, is it still illegal, because the mag is only temporarily limited to 2 shells (with a piece of dowel) to comply with hunting regs (i.e. not gun laws)??

(I really am trying to get my head around these UK Regs, but it's confusing... :o )
