What's the law say about having a gun room with no windows and just a heavy duty door?

A friend of mine who is an RFD had his understairs cupboard lined with steel plate and a steel door and had that passed. As to the windowless room it depends on the quality of the walls and door. Some modern houses would fail as they are just plasterboard internal walls. I found the Police helpful in the past. Get them up to advise and try to meet their spec.

I use a MIG to weld railway carriage crash pillars, I'm sure 3mm plate or whatever it is shouldn't pose too much of a problem! Mind you, it is a 300A 3-phase MIG... O:-)
lol! yes, those would get more than enough penertration ;) but a cheapo back street garage kinda setup from machine mart is more the type of mig welder i had in mind.

but i do love me a bit of TIG, really miss being able to zone out and weld away.

artistic? pfft, for me, arc is the artform. having to move along, while keeping a stick at the right angle and distance from the work, all while it is getting shorter and shorter as you go.... and if you are using stainless rods, you do all this while being attacked by the slag as it cools and explodes off the bead :)

All three of my cabinets are hand built , FLO approved them , internal hinges , overlapped edges and 7 lever mortices in all . No problem . Built to sketches and some general mods . I can take some pics or see if I can find sketches if you want to pm an email address ? Cheers
