Targetmaster trickler
Electronic powder dispensers that are actuated digitally are hip and trendy these days. Ninety percent of the owners will not perform any better shooting but who cares?
Every man with an interest in technical stuff will enjoy a buzzing vibrating device that independently dispensers powder and deposits it in cup at a precise one tenth of a grain. (For outsiders that is 0.0065 gram !!!)
Such a powder dispenser will cost a lot of money and its precision which we might not notice will stop most people buying one.
But the target master only costs 119 pounds plus postage, at about 160 euros that is doable. The idea is brilliant and the finish is practical and neat. The targetmaster consists of 2 parts : the powder trickler unit and the sensor unit. The third part is a conventional scale. That is not included in the price.
The producer of the targetmaster assumes that anyone reloading has already got a conventional beam scale. The funny thing is that the beam scale actually triggers the electronics. As the vibrating powdertrickler dumps the grains into the cup the long scalearm rises and interrupts the infra red beam of the sensor unit exactly at the right time. That unit then turns the trickler off. The good thing is that the beam scale will show the actual weight. This will work no matter what. And lets not forget very smart.
Allan Edwards invented this in the 80s when he often needed extreme small loads for his 32 S&W paladin match pistol.
He made prototype after prototype perfecting a targetmaster. Allan produces every component himself, even the plastic housing. Being used to working with simple electronics he developed some thing he can make himself with some extra possibilities.
The inventor did a fantastic job on the mechanical side and for this the inventor deserves our respect. The whole set looks very nice. A jackplug and cable connects the trickler to the sensor unit. The switches are heavy duty and every charge can be started with the red knob on top of the trickler. The height of the sensor arm can be adjusted and also the angle of the powdertrickler (this will effect the speed and accuracy). Four AA batteries supply the power for 250 loads.
