Is that not the standard FAL operating handle? Not as "tidy" as the L1A1, but no doubt far better in straight pull configuration...

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Some pics of mine wearing German BGS G1 furniture to go with the Luxembourg Army OIP scope I had spare. I fancy trying full wood lit next and have a set of Ironwood type A furniture from the US to go on once I get the time to do final finishing and oiling. Apologies for the picture quality!

Nice! I had an OIP for a while - struggled to get on with the offset, but a nice fun scope to use :good:

I am sure that a right side cocking handle such as Mark Bradley does, would make extraction a lot easier to deal with ?

That is a nice looking rifle!
The above post probably contains sarcasm or some other form of attempted wit, please don't take it to heart.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. As mentioned in my earlier post mine has a larger handle fitted to the cocking slide assembly. The previous owner (a lady) had it fitted as she found the original difficult to use. So far I've left it on - not great looks perhaps but it sure makes life easier.

A few pics (and before you ask - no I don't know who made it!) - Kev

They're pretty similar. This is the original.

Very nice! Out of interest, did you have to fettle the bipod to get it on to the barrel? I bought one and it's very close, but the holes don't quite line up.

No it fitted fine although you do have to push really really hard against the detent springs in each leg to get in all lined up with the barrel bracket before the screws can be done up square - almost needed three hands to do it. These Imbel FALs have standard bipod cut barrels and any G1 or STG type bipod should fit.
