Hi,
I'm after buying a full length rail & stock for my mossberg 500 on Ebay (USA ), if I get them posted to a friend in the US should there be any reason why they can't post these to me in the regular post
Thanks
Rob

Re: importing
Hi Rob, here look for yourself mate. http://pe.usps.com/text/imm/fh_014.htm
Not long back I asked our local post office lady what the score was on this and was able to legally send a shotgun stock to the UK without any problems. Little tip, tell your friend in the US to mark the customs label plastic or wooden stock and not shotgun stock, saves any panty wetting as it moves through the system.

Re: importing
I have sent plastic and wood L1A1 complete rifle furniture sets to the States in the past, I always mark the Customs declaration as Wood/Plastic (depending) components with metal fixings...this is a completely accurate description of the package contents.
Packages arrived without any issue.
No need to mention anything "firearm" related, its simply furniture .. The same should be true coming from the other direction.

Re: importing
Any reason, apart from ITAR?
I thought there was an ITAR exemption for less than USD 100 items ?
Your US friend can of course legally buy it and himself can legally sell it after realising he does like it on his rifle. Now that it is second-hand, he could even legally sell it to you for less than USD 100 ?

Re: importing
It's sadly more complex....if it wasn't I'd have bought a few pre-64 Model 70 "Bull Guns" for $99.99 from contacts in the US.froggy wrote:Any reason, apart from ITAR?

Not to mention spare shotgun barrels....etc.
It still depends on the nature of the item.
Pity...shopping from the US is not the fun it used to be.
Re: importing

Re: importing
Not sure what you mean by "metal rail". BTW, tell your US buddy to mark the customs label as a gift and put a value of around $5 on the customs label.
Re: importing
How more complex ?
Ordering from Brownells USA was very easy & straightforward : they were happy to post me CMMG mags as long as the order was below USD 100 excluding postage.
