Hmmm;

"In some of the few European countries where firearm ownership is allowed it is considered rude to not have a “muffler” on a firearm, and they are sold unrestricted and over the counter."

The American gun press do sometimes make me cringe lol

True in a way that even airgun mods stateside are covered by the NFA. But yeah it's not the best writing.

Its just the over-egging the pudding they tend to do. I can't think of a single European country that doesn't allow some form of firearms ownership, i've never heard of anyone being called 'rude' for not using a 'muffler' (just a d**khead if they're using a side porting muzzle brake lol ) and i doubt most countries just sell them "over the counter" if they have a licensing system.

What is the actual situation with 'moderators' (which we call suppressors, usually) in the UK? Obviously, they seem to be legal, but is their purchase/use restricted? (Just fyi, any form of suppressor is illegal in Canada).

There was a comment to that effect, it now seems to have been pulled... 8-)

Edit: It's still there - I must have gone back to a previous page instead of refreshing it! :oops:

In a nutshell, they're legal. Treated as firearms - provide a good reason and authority to purchase should be granted.
