As my brother is "too busy", can anyone here provide me with the following:-
Five pieces of steel 3mm thick, 20mm x 15mm, with a 1.6mm hole 2mm from the edge, half way along the 20mm side.
Blued would be nice, although I would be filing them to shape for a front sight for my Ruger Old Army. ( I suppose I could blue afterwards )
I can do the filing but the drilling of a 1.6mm straight and tidy hole I cannot.
I probably could if I bought around five hundred drill bits and some heavy duty gloves and safety glasses.
I am prepared to pay for your time and materials and postage etc.
I have investigated the possibility of obtaining a sight blade from the US or anywhere else, but no one has one. ( includes Ruger )

Re: I need some plates of steel please.
Btw: the 20mm x 15mm can be larger, I'll just have to do a bit more filing.
Also I think brass and stainless would be ok, but not ali as its too soft and I found it bends too easily when filing.

I can probably help you out with this however not right now as I have just waved goodbye to the vast majority of our machinery and will not see them until next Tuesday.

Thank you ovenpaa.
If I cannot find some by the time you have completed your move and setup again , your services would be greatly appreciated.
I have the original sight blade and the bit that snapped off, my first attempt was to super glue both bits to a bit of ali, drill the hole, then file to shape. Had to be careful not to file the original bit.
I chose five pieces to allow for my losses of concentration whilst filing and to make some taller ones for shooting heavy conicals.

If you can email me a picture I can rough them out so you have slightly less filing to do, email me and remind me with a sketch end of next week and I will see what I can do.
