"I just find it a bit disappointing that so called enthusiasts can't be bothered to learn enough about their chosen sport and equipment to even call common bits by their right name."
Totally agree Mind you reading some of the posts on here and on other sites with some of the poorest spelling and grammar I have ever read I wonder how they got an FAC. Some of them must have got some one else to fill them in for them.

Shouldn't that be "correct", a small "m", "a" and "someone"????

Lesson here? Always proof read before mentioning someone else's grammar troutslapping

It is also missing some punctuation.

I find the term "sporting equipment" suffices for the box-ticker behind the counter. Although top marks to the bloke in my post room at work, calling me down to collect my package of "bullets" that he had opened to check contents.

We can get a bit pedantic on this topic. I remember 20-odd years ago reading Andy McNab's B-2-0, in which he described the soldier's two main concerns going into battle - having enough "water and bullets". Now unless he and his patrol were going to whip out a tub of N140, some beam scales and other kit, collect their spent brass and reload their own ammo.....
But then my Dad insists on referring to my No 4 as a "fine weapon".
"No, Dad. You were issued a weapon; I have bought a rifle."

Everything I post is "sports equipment", I posted a Soviet 1pn58 nv scope to the States as sports equipment!.
