How uncool are you if you don't have a keymod rail ???
Now I have to admit that I'm never going to win any prizes for coolness but surfing the web this weekend has revealed I'm living in the dark ages with my free float 1913 quad rail. Now I did think that I was all hip and trendy with one of these but all the cool kids now rock the range with m-lok or keymod rails.
I'm not really sure if I can show my face at the range again with something that is so obviously pre-2013 so if you see me there plse don't give me a hard time. I'm still wearing Dunlop green flash trainers so you won't have much luck converting me ! However, if you've converted and upgraded to whatever Larry Vickers or Chris Costa are rocking, let's see a pic and hear what you think about the new system.

They do seem popular, but I guess so were quad rails a few years ago. I think when people realised they didn't need to use a quad rail in the way they were designed they moved onto something more fitting. Personally I couldn't care less what is trending, to me it's a moot point, but I have no need to attach anything other than a scope mount and wanted something with a smooth profile that is light and slim but with the option of adapting if need be. I went for the Noveske NSR 11. By chance it seems to match with my upper quite well.TJC wrote:Now I have to admit that I'm never going to win any prizes for coolness but surfing the web this weekend has revealed I'm living in the dark ages with my free float 1913 quad rail. I'm sorry to add to your "un-coolness" but in reality Dunlop Green Flash are tennis shoes, they only started pretending to be tennis "trainers" when other more cool real trainers started appearing :)
And just to add insult to injury, Dunlop Red Flash were much cooler than Green Flash and all the really cool kids in the 70s had them :)
Other than that, 1913, picatinny, weaver, keymod, bit of used chewing gum or a bent 6" nail, as long as it works be proud of whatever you use to clag bits of tat onto your guns :)

Saddler still has his "Whizz Kids" trainers that went with his flared Geordie Jeans...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Or is that just cruelly feeding false hope? I've never been cool, I love my rider boots and converse, that's about it. I must be really uncool as I have a vortex on my vz58 and not a fancy aimpoint or eotech then?Sim G wrote:You got to give the kids aprirations, Jeff. Even the mackems...

Quad rails are just extra weight & the rails are very rarely needed unless you're an operator with the need for lights & lasers etc.

Now whatever happened to that night match at Bisley that was widely tipped for last year ! I just need some duck tape and I'm operator ready for that !!!!Airbrush wrote:Quad rails are just extra weight & the rails are very rarely needed unless you're an operator with the need for lights & lasers etc.
