Hunting ban repealed?-time for hand guns/semi autos too?

As in title-"the independent" reports about hunting with dogs supporter to fight back after 10 years of ban.OK,what about us?-are we strong enough to toss a glove?I have a strange feeling that a lot of folks is really fed up with current regulations.Nothing is for ever,right?-it works both ways.How can we pull this one out?-are we asking for to much?What about centre fire semi auto rifles and .22 rim fire hand guns,for starters?I know the first attempt to sign petition failed but hey ho-second time lucky?or third if necessary?Have a say pls-JB

I see your home club is the NRA at Bisley. Try getting the NRA to support/promote the return of semi CF rifles and RF pistols first.....

SA centre fire rifles not a chance, better luck with .22 sa pistols.

It's up to every shooting organisation & indeed shooter whatever their discipline to get behind a national campaign.

The last petition-based effort to repeal the .22 pistol ban failed miserably. No target shooting organisation is set up for the PA/PR effort you'd need to get a change in the law. The other shooting orgs are focused exclusively on hunting and tweed.

OK,point taken,I will write to NRA and ask them about this,but as I mentioned above-the water drop can carve the rock and flying to the Moon was also SF(what if..you create Section1A-semiauto CF,.22 hand guns,for "civil defence corps",something between TA and Swiss national service..?is this SF or to political?)

What I really want is a semi auto round that's SAFE!

.22 is horrid for ricochet.

Let's go for expanding semi auto to include 9mm.

That'll allow 9mm semi rifles and a whole host of great pistols without reclassifying pistols or semi auto rifles much.

It'd make the ever growing steel shooting much safer!

Just add a calibre....

Might as well allow all full bores if you do that. Plus see how things are going, I reckon we're going to see more things like the MARS and lever release soon and possibly cheaper too.

Can't beat making complicated, why introduce a calibre variable. Guns are legal or not legal, next of we will discussing whether assault rifles come under the restriction lifting.

You're right of course. It's just that making .22 pistols legal or semi automatic center fire rifles legal still wouldn't help the steel shooting three gun world out.
