No, not a customer.

You pay them. You elect the mandarins they pander to. Ensure they serve you.

That does sound like a sensible approach. I should probably wait until the thing turns up so I can quantify just how bad it is then send a missive to Maria.

Durham - 46 hours from handing in a variation request to picking up the new cert.

Hampshire:

January - variation change one for one. BACK in about a week.

Variation to add 38 special - I had 357 and forgot about 38 special. My fault. Thought last time back in a week so never stocked up on ammunition.
Posted 30th March, back 8th May.

Could the variation delays be due to people waiting as the variation fee dropped??

I have considered in future posting variation without licence with a covering letter to send in when new one ready. Would I get away with this or stay at bottom of the pile?

In the past I have sent my renewal in without current licence - FAO cam out with new licence and told me to keep old one as start date on new licence was in the future. I returned old licence when it expired.

Also in Hampshire, my ticket came through in 2 weeks beginning to end just over a year ago. My my son-in-law however only just got his after about 4 months! The initial visit from the FEO was very quick but the final paperwork took forever.
