Just post it as copy and paste, always works for me. And Very soon speaking of post election, I might have something that might interest you that I'll be able to unveil Fedaykin. Wonder what Ovenpaa has in mind?Fedaykin wrote:Christ on a bike smoking a pipe! Why does Youtube embedding never work for me?!

That's my fave scene from any of jack Black's movies.Fedaykin wrote:You getting ideas post the election ovenpaa?!![]()
Anyhow I prefered the gun selected in the 97 Bruce Willis version:

You had the right URL, but you need to remove the 's' in https:// and wrap the URL in [youtube] on the full editor page.Fedaykin wrote:Christ on a bike smoking a pipe! Why does Youtube embedding never work for me?!

Re: Original Day of the Jackal rifle
Oh I see
The Polish 14.5mm KPV in the film was in fact a Browning M2HB dressed up to look like one. To be fair they did a good job hiding what it really was.

Agree with you there DaveDave 101 wrote:saddler wrote:Some cloth lugs in evidence today - I always thought "action" & "calibre" were distinctly different
The action seems to be a generic .22 sporting type, but the bolt assembly is unusual in that it has no handle on the side, instead the action is locked & opened using the knurled cap to the rear of the bolt.
Supposedly two rifles were made for the film, one being returned to the English makers after the movie was shot.
Stills frame photos seem to show the chambering was .22WMR
I was fully aware of the OP , just giving a little insight that may help , once again you come out with the smart arse comments if there's one person on this forum who continues to be rude to other members its you Saddler . Many a time I have seen your sarcastic comments to members who then no longer continue on this forum .
Perhaps you are unaware of your attitude , if that's the case then I am letting you know , if you are fully aware of what you do then its about time you changed your ways .

I was talking to a friend about it today and neither of us have the faintest idea what the action is based upon if indeed it was a production item.
No plans to make one however I am thinking of building a target .22LR later this year for club work.

Re: Original Day of the Jackal rifle
Always struck me as a "cool movie gun" for the sheeple, but totally impractical...though if I cannot find a stock for the Anschutz 54 I've got aside it may well be off to the Scotz-NHS for a free crutch as an interim quasi-stockovenpaa wrote:I was talking to a friend about it today and neither of us have the faintest idea what the action is based upon if indeed it was a production item.

Re: Original Day of the Jackal rifle
to me, it looks like a Springfield 53b, with the handle chopped off, rear of the action shortened and the cocking button on the back sleeved....
