FAL carbine to full size rifle

#1 Post by rufrdr »

My FAL carbine was uncomfortable to shoot so I had it changed to the full length version

The additional weight and longer barrel will make it a lot more pleasant to shoot!

Is that FAL with a detachable mag or a Bullet button equipped one?

You should have fitted a suppressor, that would have tamed it.

Moderators are banned in California. Only Brakes, Comps and Flash hiders (fixed mag Bullet button builds or Registered Assault Weapons only). Remember he's in California.

It is detachable but the release lever is covered with a bullet button shroud. There is a hole in the shroud the corresponds to the magazine release. Poke through with a bullet tip and the magazine may be removed.

Am I right in thinking that if you had a removeable mag/no bullet button you'd need one of those awful looking pistolgrip things?, like you see on Cali AKs'.

Thats what I thought, the 10 round mag was a give away as fixed mags are stuck at 10 round mags but featureless rifles are free if you have preban mags?

I talk to lots of CA and NY gunowners and the answer would be yes.

Yes, for example an M1A or Mini 14 is free to use any capacity magazine you might have on hand. No flash hider for those rifles, so they get a muzzle brake instead. It's all very silly.
