Our gun laws will never be relaxed. No point pretending otherwise. Our governing body - the press - will not allow it.

^ exactly that.
Any politician thinking about it will have one of his staffers point out to him the thought of the first victim of a shooting (whether by a legally held firearm or not) being made to look like its his fault for relaxing the laws.

And how, at this rate we might as well all give up and take up knitting.

How is it defeatism, it's realism.
I wasn't a fac holder when the pistol ban came in, but even I can see that we were let down badly by a lack of unity.
I'm all for all disciplines, the more people shooting the better, but I'm also a realist.
Policing only care about one thing, and that's themselves. They get power and they hate the thoug of losing that power. Bad press= the last thing any politician wants.

Cameroon keeps vacuously bleating on about doing the "right thing", if that is so important to him then the "right thing" would be to right the wrongs done to legal firearms owners through desperately bad legislation, especially as he is a gun owner himself.

However that will never happen as he is another gutless, lying b@stard only interested in himself, his ego and his pocket.

If there was a like button on here the likes from me would be over 9000! For that comment and that comment alone. Doesn't matter where I am, we have the curse of Miliband (and tribal labour voting).
