The Russian military has established accuracy standards the SVD and its corresponding sniper grade ammunition have to meet. Manufacturers must perform firing tests to check if the rifles and sniper grade ammunition fulfill these standards. To comply to the standards the SVD rifle with 7N1 sniper cartridges may not produce more than 1.24 MOA extreme vertical spread with 240 mm twist rate barrels and no more than 1.04 MOA extreme vertical spread with 320 mm twist rate barrels. When using standard grade 57-N-323S cartridges the accuracy of the SVD is reduced to 2.21 MOA extreme vertical spread. The extreme vertical spreads for the SVD are established by shooting 5-shot groups at 300 m range. The accuracy of the SVD with sniper grade ammunition corresponds to the American M24 Sniper Weapon System with M118SB cartridges (1.18 MOA extreme vertical spread) and the M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System with M118LR ammunition (1.27 MOA extreme vertical spread).
With the gas system disabled (ie straight pull) a Dragunov is easily capable of 1moa with quality ammo, some Dragunov owners in Russia and Germany have accurized variants that will shoot 0.5 moa.
As a sidenote the Dragunov was the worlds first purpose built "sniper" rifle, rather than an accurate standard infantry rifle with a scope added for the purpose. The PSO-1 scope was purpose made for the Dragunov.
The SKS is not overly accurate as it is a battle rifle as opposed to a DMR and chambered in 7.62x39 rather than 54r.That said it should hit centre mass out to 300m no problem.

Both of mine will consistently drop fig11's at 700m at Sennybridge, the SVD has a genuine 40-odd year old PSO-1 that is only a 4x scope but has crystal clear optics, a 1000m rangefinding reticule and a BDC elevation turret calibrated for the Russian issue 150g 54r round.Everyone that has shot them have had their eyes opened to how accurate they can be.

We're thinking of transferring our POSP 8x42 scope to our new Kuo Mosin 7.62x54R M28/76 are we. Should pop Farmer Giles' waistcoat buttons at 1000 mards we thinks...
