Anyone know what they changed? Latest version came out 4 days ago in a blaze of no publicity whatsoever.

It looks like the conditions for Section 1 shotguns now reflect the wording present in the ACPO FELWG Minutes of Meeting – 11 June 2014 (p.12) rather than the slightly revised version in the Guide on Firearms Licensing Law – October 2014 (p.233).

The SMOOTH-BORE GUN/SOLID SLUG shall be used for practical target shooting: (a) The smoothbore gun(s) to which this certificate relates shall be used for target shooting on land or ranges where the holder has lawful authority to shoot (provided that adequate financial arrangements are in place to meet any injury or damage claim), for disciplines and courses of fire approved by the BWSS or NRA or NTSA or UKPSA.

I'm satisfied that the restrictive condition that S1 shotguns for practical target shooting should be used: "over a course of fire approved by a qualified member of the UKPSA", has been modified.

Sounds good. You can setup a PSG CoF on any land you're allowed to shoot on!

Assuming that your insurance covers you and that slug isn't used unless the land is cleared for it.

I have been looking through the new gidelines a little each day & "may" have spotted something.

AFAIK section 1 shotguns, long barrel revolvers/pistols & .50 Cal rifles could not be fired by anyone without the actual firearm being on their FAC meaning they cannot be club guns, well it looks like there might be a bit of wriggle room maybe?

13.49 - Page 114 states



So Long Barrel Pistols are in the bit above that is about club guns, and the bit below about lending to individuals mentions Long Barrel Revolvers.



Can we now let others shoot our Long Barrel Magazine fed Pistols in .22 & can Clubs Have a Long Barrel Revolver as a club gun?

My FAC states two Long barrelled handguns:-
.357/38Spl (Type) Revolver (Action) Long Barrel...type not mentioned as a no no for a club gun
.22RF (Type) Pistol (Action) Long Barrel...type not mentioned as a no no to let another member shoot it

Am I clutching at straws here especially as it is only guidance
