Sounds like the furry one has been digging for worms & found a cache of canned bangs, in military packaging.
If someone wanted to sacrifice a couple of Finn things...ya never know wot swaps could materialise.
Cheaper to feed 5.56 bang-sticks too.

I know we're talking .223 here, but SWMBO's little semi-custom BRNO Fox in .222 has performed perfectly well out to 600X and has acounted for quite a few Roe Deer at surprising ranges.

Wifey's little semi-custom BRNO Fox dating from 1988.
I believe that CZ do the CZ527 in .223 these days, a very accurate little rifle.

Narrow mindedness is an encumbrance to thought.
Still when you have an affliction of badgers any calibre will do.

Contact Ovenpaa about the Delta 66 Tube rifle in .223. You will also get lightweight and lppk as a bnus...meles meles wrote:Well oomans, we're contemplating a half pint rifle. We generally collect proper battle rifles in big calibres but we're now contemplating a half pint rifle, i.e. summat in .223 /5.56. Maybe .223/5.56 Wylde. What do you recommend? Our prejudice is towards bolt actions, maybe a CZ, but if you know better..

Seeing as you like 'battle rifles' have you considered an AR 15?
Re: Badger contemplates a 5.56 / .223
see if you can find a sako 75 varmint s/h with the 1-8 tube failing that go for one of those chicken tikkas with the 1-8 barrel ?
1-8 will allow you to use 40g up to 77-80g bullets , a very versatile little number the 223 !
