New electronic targets at Bisley, says Andrew Mercer

It's a bit scatty, mainly because it's all the bits I noted down that weren't part of the UKPSA shenanigans a few weeks ago. Some gems in there though, particularly the cost of renovating the Century butts and the regional expansion plans.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

Yes, good piece, thanks. I met the guys from Kongsberg in the U.S. last year and we were bemoaning how long it's taken to get electronic targets at Bisley. Maybe it's finally going to happen.

Electronic targets would be far more useful on Stickledown as it's harder to get markers to and from the butts.
The old system (when it worked) was brilliant for 1,000 yard load testing.

- Being honest I wasn't aware of your site; but have now stuck it on my desktop and will have a look at some of the other stuff later.
I found the bit about the road to SS particularly interesting...worms eh?...did he mean 'slow worms' (a reptile (limbless lizard) which would make sense, though there has to be a solution to that...anyway, I'll see what I can find out about it, and if I get any info I'll pass it on.
