Regular outdoor shooting days at Altcar and Sealand @ 100, 200, 600 & 1000 yds.

All this for the princely sum of £50 pa and £2 range fees for each visit. It'll do for me! :good:

Facilities as above with exception of soft drinks machines.
65 quid a year and no green fees unless at Altcar.

As Les rightly says, it'll do for me :good:

I understand if it's a club using a range that doesn't belong to them, but are you still paying the fees for a clubs on site range?

Just curious is all.
Don't know to be honest as one of my clubs has 2 or 3 levels of annual membership I think, with the top level you have access to the ranges 362 days a year between 10am and 5pm with no extra per visit, the next level down you pay a lower fee but then pay £2 per visit and I think the level after that it is lower still but then is £5 per visit.
Sometimes you are lucky and find some courses of fire setup either from a previous comp or other members and other times there's nothing set up at all, nothing else included, targets and patches extra.

My old club just has one set annual fee (£300) and no extra per visit but you need to book lanes in advance by the hour and opening times are quite restrictive.
This is a good idea as it caters for people who might not/cannot necessarily use the range that much :good:

Blu - As above. Say the actual yearly membership fee would be £100, a club may instead elect to charge a £50 'members fee' and then £2 per visit which covers you for a week. Therefore you only pay for how much you're using the club. I think St Giles operated like that when i was a member. Wish Mayfair did TBH as i only go to the indoor part of the club 5-6 times per year, usually just to sight in/test a new gun or when i've changed sights but i'm paying the full whack.

I suppose the counter argument is that you've paid for it so you might as well use it.

Hi Mark, yeah I see where you are coming from mate, Like I said I was just curious was all. Over here all the clubs I have been a member of or still a member of charge $50 a year for individual membership regardless of how much one uses the club. Saying that though and in all fairness I suspect club membership numbers here are larger than the UK given that shooting is a lot more popular here, hell just about every city, town and village has it's own club in one form or another.

Great idea as far as I am concerned I wish we could operate such a system at our club. I would only attend when and if I felt like it then. The only problem is who would open up the range though when I don't feel the whim to attend as at the present I open up every Friday night, some Wednesdays and for the Sunday shoots. Not only that but often I don't get the chance to shoot myself.
