FAC How long did your take to get issued ?

About 16 weeks I think it was for Staffs back in 2012. Variations usually back within a week though.

One new club member put his application into Edinburgh in Nov 2014 they are just getting round to it now. Having said that if you cut the staff from 8 to 2.5! Will be interesting to see how long Stirling take to handle my upcomimg variation.

If you are talking about your first ever firearm certificate mine took about two weeks and when it was ready they rang me and I went up to
Police Head Quarters and collected it.

If I wanted a variation or it altering I used to phone them and go into the office the next day. But that was about 35 years ago.

Over 9 months for the first grant
Fortunately, all renewals and variations since then have taken between 2 days and 2 weeks.

Mine (just over a year ago in Hampshire) was a very impressive 2 weeks from posting the application to having it in my hands. That included 2 visits as the speed of the first visit caught me by surprise and i didn't have a rifle safe!

I am in the West Midlands police area and I've always received a good service. My last variation took 1 week and my current renewal is due the end of this month. I posted it off early Jamuary and got it back early Feb. So about 4 weeks to process and back 4 weeks before it was due to run out.

Interesting that no visit was required event though I added two guns. And my references were not contacted.
