.357 Rossi sights

#1 Post by Haslhoff »

I have a Rossi puma in .357 I was looking at upgrading the sights. The current horn version are no good for target at 20/25m I was looking at something similar to the Williams peep sight. Anyone know of someone that makes them for the Rossi, or recomend something different. Thanks

Round or octagonal barrel? You could always try a tang sight with a globe fore sight. I had a .44 octagonal immediately after the handgun ban and did just that. It was a Lyman designed for the Winchester 92 with a Pedersoli front globe and inserts..
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I had one of these barrel mount rear sights http://www.skinnersights.com/rossi_firearms_23.html
I found it totally transformed the Rossi.

That skinner sights looks good, what I was after, I'll have a look, what would you recommend for the front sight..? Would you change it or just leave it. Find the brass doesn't show up that we'll makes it hard to get a clear point of aim

I also fitted the skinner front sight and love it. Mind did also work with the standard front sight but your load, barrel length, zero distance etc etc is almost certainly different to me.

Might it be worth trying blacking the brass? You could give it a quick go with the smoke from a candle with a long wick, just to see if that would make the difference. I used to do that on pistol foresights, if there was a bit of sheen on them, and it really helped.

Best regards,

Jack
