Got an old photo somewhere of 1930's NKVD snipers with M-N sniper rifles.
Using PE scopes & wooden cheekrests....

Will dig some better photos up first... Here ya go:

The free one you take from a dead Soviet sniper...ask a Finn Winter War veteran if you don't believe me...
Several thousand captured Russian rifles. A couple of dozen in Finnish store-rooms; they'd all been taken home when the soldiers went on leave!
