You'd need to define what you meant by 'good' to answer the first question, especially considering the wide variety of rifles you want to compare it against!

They're built from all new parts.

You can't mount a continuous picatinny rail on these guns because of the size of the ejection port and as they eject brass directly upwards!

You can however get rear recevier covers and front handguard covers with picatinny rails which would permit you to put any type of iron or red dot sight on the gun. The only thing you have to be careful with is optical sights as because the gun ejcts upwards you can't fit a scope that goes over the ejection port. I may have read somewhere about a brass deflector you can fit which does allow you to mount long optics but i've never seen one in action.
as in, does it compare with other top name military rifles (durablity, acccuracy etc) such as the AR, ak or HK

If you go on YouTube and type in 'VZ58 vs', you will get lots of video reviews. VZ58 vs AK47 & AR-15 etc.

Spoke to Scott at the shooting show about Moderators, he mentioned that the pressure can increase when fitting a Mod to this type of rifle. Might be worth giving him a call.

Putting a moderator on any gas powered gun increases the pressure in the action, but the way the VZ works it wouldn't make a difference with operation of the action. The only issue would be that the excess gasses being vented would be so fast (and hence loud) that it would defeat the object of fitting the moderator in the first place! Added to that the 'openess' of the bolt allowing sound to escape it may be a pointless exercise. Its all theoretical at the moment anyway as removing the front sight appears to be mission impossible 8-)

Sorry but I don't think a trigger operated system should be allowed at all, I think its a very dangerous way to get round the rules, I have a SGC and its a good gun the leaver is a safe way to re charge the bolt. My opinion, I am not anti any Gun maker just think its a very bad idea, and showing videos of how fast you can fire it will get it banned very quickly ?

IMHO I still think that self loading rifles should be allowed (as well as ones with a 'trigger operated system') if someone is deemed responsible, safe enough and has good reason to hold a section 1 licence.
I don't think that the mars system is any more dangerous than a lever release system. After all, I hope everyone would have the muzzle in a safe direction at all times even if their finger was outside the trigger guard or not.

+1 to that, if you can have a semi-auto shotgun you should be able to have a semi-auto rifle. And totally agree that the only time your finger should be anywhere near the trigger is when the muzzle is downrange and the range is clear and you are about to shoot.

If you can't be trusted with a MARS you can't be trusted with any firearm.
