Calling any Steyr SSG04 owners

#1 Post by ovenpaa »

One for the SSG04 owners on the forum, I need to build a guide for one of these and I am missing the bolt core diameter from my list. From memory it is 18,95mm however that looks a bit on the skinny side for an 04.

If Jeff doesn't get back to you today i'll measure mine tonight and let you know tomorrow. Now, can i have the bright picture version of what a "bolt core" is?? You mean the hole in the receiver that the bolt goes into? 5mith lol

Thanks Mark, the core diameter is the main body of the bolt, diameter A in the picture and ideally diameter B as well which is the reduced diameter directly behind the four lugs. If you have a bolt handy then the length of the front would be good as well please, so from where the bolt reduces in diameter to where the bolt ends.

I need to make a guide for someone who uses one however he is in a desert right now so exchanging emails with him is difficult.

Morning :wave:

A = 20.97mm

B = 15.94mm

And the length is approx: 23.8mm

My Possum Hollow guide has an o/d of 17.12mm and the chamber insert section is 11.42mm o/d and approx: 38.65mm in length.

Hope that helps :)

So the same as the Pro-Hunter by the look of it. Many thanks indeed for the dimensions.

As an aside doesn't the PH guide rattle about a bit, I usually build mine to suit the bolt diameter.
