My precious....

#1 Post by saddler »

Mailed Thursday in Finland
Arrived Edinburgh on Friday
Delivered 2pm today

Some very very PRECIOUS things that I'd spotted at the TamArms show in 2014
Managed to smuggle them in with the preapproval of the entertainment committee (plus her assistance in doing the PayPal frpm her account)
HAD planned to buy in person at the 2015 TamArms on the 14 Feb., but the flights were either too long or too expensive!

Only had a brief decco, but it looks like David Penn & the late great Herb Woodend were involved.

Stuck at the workbench for another 3 hours, trying to resist the temptation calling from the kitchen!!
Torture after an almost 12 month wait.....

AMAZING from just a quick look through...and the index has an English section, plus each photo has English captions; as well as a summary of each chapter is given in English (not something I noticed when I first saw this set at the TamArms show)

Well worth a years wait - and probably more than worth the money I invested in them too (I think my last 4 guns bought were all below what the books cost - plus the vendor in Finland is their version of an RFD, so has asked me what else I'd like to buy...)

Would love a few hours with those books!

Rarely source rifles from anywhere else now.

Having spent only a few hours with them, they're THE single go-to source for ANYTHING Finnish (though for some reason I have not yet found any information in them on Finnish Small Arms Ammunition fingerscrossed )
Some quite good copies of original factory drawings, inc. some for leatherwork shakeshout , plus the different chamber size drawings of the Finnish 7.62x53R round, factory & unit markings, allocation of small-arms by type to which army/Civil Guard unit & LOTS of rare photos of armourers field workshops/classes, early days at Sako & Tikka, arsenal pics showing equal numbers of Swede Mausers to M~N's, etc.

Anytime we're passing by we may fetch them for an airing, as long as your paws are well scrubbed & I have a pile of Finn bangsticks to drool over while you are reading

Yes.

I have sourced a M91 in .22 but 'my man in Finland' reckons he can pick one up a bit cheaper. Should know in the next week or so.

They come in either M27 or M91 flavours.

Got a lead on one of each.
Fancy the M27 version as the first toe in the arctic water.

Be a great club & classic rifle

Just been told by a book-dealer contact, that he has a set of these three book's available.
Just delivered to him this morning.

He said he'll offer them at £240 for the three.

PM me if you want more info.
