Firearm certificates.
I saw a firearm certificate the other day that looked like it had been photocopied or scanned and issued. The photograph was in black and white it was obvious the certificate had either been copied or scanned. Has any one else a certificate like this one. I have not seen the like before. It struck me that it would be very easy to turn out a certificate like this using a simple Microsoft program.

Re: Firearm certificates.
The photograph on both my SGC and FAC are in black and white. As is the Northumbria Police crest.

Is it a actual photograph or has the certificate been photocopied or scanned.

The certificate is on the proper yellow high quality paper (i.e. not just photocopier paper) but it just looks like a poor quality laser printer black and white print for the photo and Police crest.

They have been printing the photos direct to the FAC for a long time now, stopped sticking them on years ago! ;-)

Iv never seen one like that before it just occurred to me that with modern laser printers and stuff they would be easy to copy. Mine is a proper colour photograph laminated onto the document the rest of the document is in colour.

Aye, Cleveland are modernising, they've just updated to a second hand colour inkjet and a laminator from the quill and glue pot they were using before.

Mine is printed in colour on proper paper, but could probably be copied if someone wished. You'd think there would be a system RFDs could use to verify the FAC
Re: Firearm certificates.
Have you seen the RFD tickets?? There's not even a photo on them so they're even worse!Demonic69 wrote:Mine is printed in colour on proper paper, but could probably be copied if someone wished. You'd think there would be a system RFDs could use to verify the FAC
Re: Firearm certificates.
My West Yorkshire cert is quite a professional job, however I reckon a few printers I know wouldn't have any bother knocking some out if the mood took them
