If only she'd left off the part about African hunting and that would've been decent PR wallhead

To be fair, the reserves are at least partially funded by hunters, they pay a fortune to go and hunt. I've been told it's tens of thousands of pounds by someone that does it. I believe the reserves have quotas they're allowed to fill each year.

Why advocate one type of hunting and not another. Surely if you're pro hunting, you're pro hunting.

She made her reasons clear too, that it was for population control to further the species. Not because she wanted trophies...

It is only in those parts of Africa that have kept the well regulated shooting reserves that the endangered species thrive. Those that were closed after the British left for instance ended in huge destrucion of species by locals/poachers. Crime, ignorance and corruption have been the downfall of these species but the few well regulated shooting reserves are their only hope in some cases.

Understanding your audience is key. If she was being interviewed by a DM reporter she should've known. Probably just opened herself up to a new group of trolls 8-)

I'm well aware of the benefits to local economies and conservation where big game hunting takes place, i have a friend who has been on several such hunts and shot half a dozen species that many people would have an issue with. I support all types of hunting, apart from 'pure' trophy hunting.
