As a general message to all, by all means if you feel passionately about it go onto the local news or write to your local paper asking for concealed carry. I mean ok pistols are currently banned in the UK and there is nearly zero public or political support. Also please do tell us what your next feo visit was like I could do with a laugh. If you feel harming the image of our sport asking for impossible dreams is ok then what can one do.

Maybe the mods should move this to grumpy old men?

Fedaykin...

Your wish not to rock the boat and keep below the Radar regarding gun ownership in the UK is your right to do so, it is, in my opinion, the reason you are just now, shooting a pretend sub machine gun and a ba$tardized semi auto rifle, stupid laws forced on us by anti gun idiots who's ultimate goal is to ban civilian ownership of guns.

Feel free to bend over and take it from them, I wont.

Re: Froggy

Israel is probably the only country in the world with a past track record facing the muslim threat that is now emerging on our streets. Based on their experience and the financial impossibility to increase officers numbers, the police created Mash'az in the 70's . It is formed of 70,000 vetted members of the public (1% of the population) that received basic training and are issued with a hig-vis vest, a radio and a USM1 but carry their own handgun. They are 100% volunteers and function a bit like "special constables" here giving some of their free time .

fedaykin , your a very strange person ? to be honest I'm surprised someone as belligerent and bullish as you hasn't been picked up by the authorities as unsuitable to own firearms already?

I'm more worried about people trying to force their views on others than those people who would like to be able to defend themselves.

Why ask for what the public politicians will not let us have?

I discussed the right to self defence at length with my last FEO. He was all like 'meh'. Six slots and a 2,000 hold later...

Armed Self Defence outside the home is a rational argument. It's the hysterical, emotional, paranoid, irrational types that think otherwise.

I get bullish and belligerent when I see people harming our sport asking for the impossible.

I repeat no public or political support

But you didn't say, "the reason I want 6 slots and 2000 rounds is for self defence" did you

So that is not a rational or reasonable argument

Why wow? Politely?

It just isn't going to happen in the UK with the current political climate and I don't see that changing.

I really don't understand why people are treating me like some crazy outlier pointing this out.

Also as I have already pointed out I think people have a right to self defence proportional to any threat.
