HRA Precision & Snap Shooting Match Sunday 8 March 15

#1 Post by John MH »

As a warm-up for the RBL Match on 5 Sep 15 there is a Precision & Snap Shooting Match at Bisley on Sunday 8th March 15, the day after the March CSR League Match so people can make a weekend of it.

CoF is shown below, this match is not suitable for ‘Classics’ or low power scoped rifles as you need to be able to see your shot holes in the first practice and the targets are significantly smaller than the usual CSR targets used at each distance, ie if you have a much loved but under used 'long bolt gun' this is the match for you. Entry Fee will be £30.00 with a discount for HRA members who will be expected to help run the Match.

Entry Forms will be available to download later this week

16 of the 48 avaialable places already gone in the first 12 hours the Entry Form has been available, if you want to enter don't wait too long as its an ideal day to put those AIs, LMTs and tactical Bolt guns through thier paces and prove that they all shoot .25 MOA groups.

Just out of curiosity John is bank transfer the only accepted method of paying the entry fee?

Unfortunately yes and in many cases easier for the Match Organiser as no need for a trip to the bank to deposit cheques, chase up bounced or unsigned cheques (had a couple last year), funds cleared immediately, no need for then entrant to post payment and incur postal charges. Paypal was an option but imposes charges so they would have to be passed onto the entrant unless payment is made as a gift (this is actually against Paypal rules so could result in restrictions being placed on the recipients account).

Decision to go Bank Transfer only saves lots of hassle, if an entrant does not have online or telephone banking then he is welcome to make a trip to his local branch to arrange a transfer.

Its also the quickest way to secure a place in a popular match as once payment received your place is secured provided you get in before the maximum number of entrants is reached.

Refunds are also easier if a payment has to be returned because the match was full or if the entrant has to withdraw after giving reasonable notice that they can no longer make it to the match.

Why, what difference does it make? Payment is payment after all, do you think that it will stop people entering?

It would stop me if I was going to enter as I have no facility for sending a bank transfer.

Just from my perspective I would like to see as many payment options as possible, but if you haven't the capacity to deal with other payment methods then so be it, it is your do.

If people wanted to enter they would make the effort to go to their Bank to make a transfer if they did not have internet or telephone banking, they could alternatively ask a friend who does have the facility to make the payment for them and just hand them the cash. If they don't want to enter they wont make the effort.

As I say you can do the rules its your show and people will take from that what they will.

For the record my bank is 350 miles away from me and none of my friends do internet banking, but no doubt you will get your quota full so it will all look hunky dory.
