What twist is it?
Muzzle brake on the 260 is a bit academic. I didn't bother with one on my AE3.

Hi Tony I'm not sure about the twist rate........ I forgot to ask but I will be speaking to Adam again today, so I'll ask then, I'll also ask if they are both heavy barrels.

I sort of just presumed that being Accuracy International they would offer the best option, possibly a bit naive on my part.

Why on earth would Bisley be anti muzzle brake? That sounds a bit silly and I'm sure when I attended a car match as an observer, there were plenty in evidence.

I still haven't been there myself, but I was told you need a free lane either side of you if you use one. It upsets the locals...

I just found some notes on my .260 and it costs me 65-70 pence per round to reload, seems quite reasonable to me.

I've just finished my phone call with Adam and asked about the barrels. Apparently the .308 is a very nice, heavy barrel. When I asked him what the profile of the .260 barrel was and what twist rate, suggesting I would like something close to 1 in 8, he told me he had a 26", heavy, target profile barrel with a 1 in 8 twist sitting not too far from him....."sold to the man on the phone"

I have now placed my firm order for
1). Accuracy International AXMC rifle chambered in .308/762, with 26” heavy Barrel and standard muzzle brake, colour light Tan
2). The 26” .260Rem Heavy target profile barrel (1 in 8 twist) with standard muzzle brake, colour Black
3). 100 x .260 Remington brass cases
4). 100 x LAPUA Scenar 139gr bullets

The only problem is that the rifle will be ready long before the Police will get my variation sorted Even being an ex colleague, I never get my licence returned in anything less than 10 to 12 weeks

Yes, I can see their point re the empty lanes, I watched the muzzle blast from one rifle slam the lid shut on the guy next doors kit box one day!
65-70p per round sounds a lot nicer than the £6 - £7 per round for a factory .338

I guess it won't take me too long to get through my first 100 rounds though

Not true, you do however have to inform the Range Office if you wish to use one when you book a lane. Not a problem if you shoot with other Muzzle Brake users and normally only an issue if you are crammed 3 people to a lane as is common TR practice.
