Really? I have a 16" barrel on my dta srs covert and easily hit 1000 still supersonic! It depends on your bullet and load dev to push it as fast as you safely can.
Fair enough. I guess I'm still thinking in terms of shooting RG 155gr ammo through a TR rifle at that distance... Everyone lords the 30" barrel as being necessary to keep rounds supersonic out past 1000...

What kind of loads are you using for a 16" barrel that's super out that far...?

My 175 smk load would scrape 1000 but my main long range load (which I will now redevelop now Davy has altered my mag to allow UBER long loadings :) ) is a 208 Amax at about 2300 fps. This is still supersonic @1000 and with the extra room in the case now I have more mag room I should be able to knock on the door of 2400 fps.

If I develop a load at 2360 which I've had them going at before when single loading they will be supersonic to 1100 :) just hope I can find an accuracy node around there ;)

Intriguing...!

You know when you put in for a variation, and then wish you'd put in for a different calibre... hahaha! :p

He he I have a 18" 243 barrel which I am about to start load dev for :) I'm going to use 105 Amax and 115 DTAC's I'm aiming for 2800fps with them both ;)

The lmt 308 with the side charger as well being accurate (for its intended purpose ) you also rapid fire with it . Unless you feel the need to let rip on occasion I would go for the accuracy international

I am quite 'off' AI, as they charge like a wounded bull.

I have no reason to doubt you mate - but I have no experience with such things as I live in a country where I can have a semi-automatic rifle. shakeshout :run:

Just buy an AI AT Series and be done with it.

The higher BC's of a 6.5mm .264 calibre will give you an advantage out to 1200 yards over 7.62/.308 unless you're going to be shooting 210-220gr HPBT Matchking's or similar. Specialised Berger Hybrids (30 cal) are available which offer increased performance but are more costly.

I bought my AI-AT .260 with 26" barrel off the shelf, it was delivered to my local RFD in 2 days... :good:
