Metal pin, where to get one?

#1 Post by phaedra1106 »

Hi All

At some stage (soon) I'm going to do a "trigger job" on my Handi Rifle, currently it's pull weight is between 5-1/2 and 6lbs :squirrel:

Having gone through Graybeard Outdoors tutorials and videos (excellent site for Handi Rifle info) it seems I would be silly to attempt this without having a small pin which is used to hold the trigger assembly together during re-fitting and is then knocked out using the push pin which normally holds the trigger group in place.

So, what I need is a small pin that measures .172" diameter x .608" long, the dimensions aren't critical.

Any suggestions of where I can get one for sensible money?.

For any other Handi Rifle owner there's a video showing the complete job here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4T_8kge23wQ

A description of the pin is at 10:45 into the video.

I may be able to help I have some stainless pins that we use on micro pumps that are similar in size to what you are looking for Ill have a measure tomorrow and let you know. You are welcome to a couple if they will do the job.

If you are stuck email me a drawing and I will machine one and pop it in the post, I have some stainless here which I assume will be ok for the job, failing that I have some tool steel.

If the diameter not critical, it seem a DIN6325 diamete 4mm
,lenght 12mm shhould do.

Available in fasteners stores.

Grenade pin seems appropriate if you are considering gunsmithing Geoff!

I worked it out at 4.368 x 15.24mm so I'm sure 4 x 15 would do the job.

Roger, the video is linked to in my first post

One of those long 4mm alloy pop rivets (still on the pin) would probably serve.
