Re: Club Records
I was under the impression That a shooting club can only sell ammo for its use there,ié you could not circumvent a shop and get all your ammo in bulk from your club, which I know goes on...now I know of 3 shops which preach this as the case I wonder if anyone can dig up some legislation on this point to clear it up...
When someone says "it's not about the money" you know what? it probably is all about money!
Re: Club Records
I have heard this fallacy before, probably spread by a few RFDs who are afraid that a club may undersell them. There is no reason why a club or for that matter any other FAC holder can't sell and transfer ammunition to another FAC holder provided they have authority to possess that particular calibre on their certificates.

Re: Club Records
I will try and dig something out,now does it have to be the club secretary only who sells club ammo?

Re: Club Records
No it can be any of the club members if the ammo is to be used inside the club, but if it is sold to be taken away then it must be signed on to a certificate so can only be done by the club certificate holder who is often but not always the club secretary.

Re: Club Records
I have been an RO at several clubs over the years and have written ammo sales onto members fac`s several times.Chapuis wrote:No it can be any of the club members if the ammo is to be used inside the club, but if it is sold to be taken away then it must be signed on to a certificate so can only be done by the club certificate holder who is often but not always the club secretary.
As have many other RO`s none of whom are club officials.
Is it correct that it has to be the club fac holder that should be doing it?
I have always assumed that as an appointed RO you were acting as an instrument of the club.
Re: Club Records
I think that's a common assumption but unless you are named on the club certificate how can you sign the certificate as you have to mention your authority (club FAC number) when you make the entry. Not that I would think this this would ever really be picked up on unless you have a particularly keen FEO. It would be a different matter with a RFD who employs several shop assistants as they would be regarded as his servants, or so my own FEO informs me.
