Belted cartridge cases
Can anyone think of a belted cartridge case with a smaller base diameter than the H&H?

Edit: If this is for your subsonic round another couple to consider are the 220 Swift and 225 Winchester - sourcing brass for the later might be problematic.

The .240 is larger than the .224 but still a fairly small case, but I doubt cases are plentiful.

I had forgotten about the 224WM240WM however they are still a bit small for my needs, I am just trying to cover all bases for my winter project and a belted cartridge to suit a .308 bolt face (.470") might have been helpful

Go for the 220 Swift - semi rimmed in a 308 bolt face.

Hmm... given that I wanted to build a cartridge based on the readily available and cheap .308 Win with a pistol calibre bullet the move to more obscure and esoteric brass is probably not a good idea.
Back to the original concept I guess...

I think I have just found the perfect solution to this problem, thing is can the forum cope with yet another post on my musings on wildcats for SOWR's
